New additions

It's been a very long time. Since we last wrote, our family has has had some great times; taken some trips, created more art; produced another musical and began to redo some of our house to make room for a new addition: Baby Brother Buster! That's right, Luke is going to be a big brother. He is very excited about this news and is taking his responsibilities as a big brother very seriously. For months he has been practicing caring for his various stuffed animals, changing diapers, putting them down for a nap, etc. . . He has also begun to put aside toys and books (and even toothbrushes) for Baby Buster (whom Luke has named). A few weeks ago he came with us to the ultrasound. I was pretty nervous going in - both about finding out the gender and about possible complications, Luke sensed this and held my hand tightly though the entire thing. We were able to see the pictures on a big TV, which Luke found fascinating. At one point he remarks, "This is so cool! I am looking inside the human body!!!" He has asked me some awesome questions too - about how the baby eats and breathes and why he doesn't get food all over his when I eat (we got out the encyclopedia for that one! U is for Uterus.)

Besides getting a new baby brother, Luke is also getting a new room. we have been hard at work turning our office into a Star Wars room for him and it is almost complete! He loves his "big boy bed" and all of the Darth Vader paraphernalia strewn about in his room. In other news, he is loving his school and being in the "big boy" class. He has AWESOME teachers and administrators that make each day fabulous and cater to the individual needs of each child. They are creative and loving and we couldn't be happier! He also started Do Re Mi last week and LOVES it. Hard to believe that Kay and Polly have been teaching for a generation!

So, we can continue to blog about Luke (AKA Cletus the Fetus) but we will also start writing soon about the Great Adventures of Baby Buster. So . . . stay tuned!
