So, on our routine visit to the pediatrician today she found that Luke has a hernia. This could be because of his huge liver or perhaps just because he is a boy (it's relatively common in baby boys). Either way it is a set back as we may or may not be able to operate due to his condition . The surgeon is worried that she will fix it and that his liver may grow and put more pressure on the site causing it to rupture again. We meet with her tomorrow (Thursday) at 3:15 pm. Please continue to hold Luke in your thoughts and prayers. While this is not a MAJOR setback it is uncomfortable for him and VERY hard for us to have to potentially watch him go through another surgery. In the meantime we have to watch him carefully and make sure sure not to let him scream to much so the hernia doesn't pop back out again. My heart just breaks for our little guy. Thank you for checking in.
Love,
Jessica and Joe

Oh, Luke. We are thinking about you and sending all kinds of positive thoughts your way. Try to relax, little man.
Hernia schmernia! Small blip on the screen! Hang in there Jess and Joe. I know between the fatigue and the stress you are probably maxed out - but please remember to call on your extended support system.
I'm up for babysitting Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon/evening if you two want to sleep or go out, or just have a mental break!
Judy
Everyday I think about you, Luke! I'm rooting for you. I always keep tums with me if you need one ;)
He's such a warrior! You can see it in his "stink eye(s)" and in the determined actions of his binky-sucking techniques :)
We are lighting candles and sending love payers and good vibes from NYC! Thinking of all of you,
Angelica
